I am a blessed mummy of a little boy by the name of Ross who is borned in the year of Dog. Blogging became my favourite past-time ever since Ross is borned. I am able to blog down his growth, motherhood experience etc.
We are strict vegetarian thus, if anyone would like vegetarian recipe for baby food, we are more than welcome to share with you.

Where does a baby get the protein that he needs if he’s on a strictly vegeterian diet?
BM:
Hi Mockingbird, well, initially that’s our biggest worry. Ross drinks Nutrifresh (an MLM product from Excel) mixed with Oats powder since 1 years old cos my breastmilk supply decreased… Nutrifresh is made from more than 15 types of vegetables and fruits and soya… Also, we take eggs which is a source of protein, my MIL will use the soup of black beans and cook porridge for him…. There are also some vegetables that contains protein… let me know if you need info, will ask my hubby for it… toufu has protein too…
HTH
Haha! Now then happen to read this post..
Ooh! I take Nutrifresh too! So does my mum & son..
My mum was the one who recommended me to it..
Oh, btw, Mockingbird happens to be my hubby..
Hahaha!
BM:
hehee.. so you told yr hubby that you are reading this webby? =P oh ya… i am taking nutrifresh too… ergggg, i stopped for awhile when my hubby was too bz to stir for me in the morning, but thereafter i didnt manage to do my ‘big business’ daily… thus, am not drinking it often… actually it’s very good… with the nutrients etc, just that it’s quite ex… =P
Yup! When I stumbled upon yr blog.. found it interesting.. so I told my hubby & he reads too.. Haha!
Ya.. I agree.. you gotta stir it really well or else the powder sinks to the bottom very quickly.. Yup.. It seems to work well for me since I don take much fruits, so my mum said this is a gd alternative.. But the price is ex & ever since I starting taking some time bk.. the price have increased at least 2x..Yesterday my mum called to tell me that the price went up again.. :S
BM:
Yr mum didnt know abt the increase? We stock up before the price increase cos my DS can take up to 5 packets aday in replacement for milk powder… we stock 70 boxes! sighz… but it’s good lah… the most save on fruit juice… =)
Wow! You guys really know how to stock up!
But again, of course, we don stock up so much, each time we order, only order a few boxes at a time.. We don’t drink it so regularly, that’s why..
I try to drink it every morning, but sometimes I forget.. lol..
BM:
I see… hehe… my son drinks 5 packs a day so we stock up lor…
Do you guys eat Quinoa? They are full of protein. Can be cooked as rice and also be cooked with Oat, for b;fast. My daughter has them everyday. And she does her ‘big business’ everyday. Haha….
BM:
Hi Rose,
Actually, MIL has just started to add alittle of Quinoa into the brown rice that we cook everyday… i was introduced to this by Jocelyn Khoo of SM when i attended her prenatal classes… hehehe… she also recommended some other items like wakame (seaweed), miso soup etc… didnt know all these till the class though… =P
Thanks for your reply on Shichida method. We are home in Perth. If we want daughter to go to the classes, we have to really make an effort to bring her back to Singapore for it. Including loosing my job….. need to discuss that with hubby further.
Oh, since we are on health food, want to also mention –
Tahini (sesame paste, is a paste of ground sesame seeds used in cooking) to you if you dun already known this product. It is high in calcium and protein too. Mix it into yogurt to feed kids or as jam for bread.
BM:
=P dun need to be so drastic. But first i guess you need to plan where you need your little one to study right? how old is she? I guess if you really wanna come back, it will have to be for long term purpose. Dun worry too much for now. Honestly, you can actually make flashcards and materials yourself if you have the time. Let me know if you need further help.
Thanks for the info. didnt know abt this leh… will try to find it in singapore. =)
